American LongForm Improv
Jstar, artistic director of The Basement Theatre in Atlanta, USA, will teach an intensive class in LongForm improvisation.
LongForm improvisation uses the skills of improv to create full shows, improvised "plays" and theatre pieces (as opposed to the short form games and scenes of Theatre Sports). Typically LongForm uses one suggestion to fuel
the entire piece and scenes interconnect to tell one story.
Jstar will teach the basics of HAROLD (the form created by Del Close at iO - Chicago) as well as share his own formats MOTEL and AGORAPHOBIA. Students will get to explore several approaches to LongForm improv acting and scene work.
